Jamie Bestwick has proven himself as a versatile, reliable, well-rounded professional musician, equally at home on both the electric bass and double bass. He is an experienced player in styles varying from jazz to bluegrass, R&B to Broadway & everything in between. He is an honours graduate of the prestigious Humber College Music Program in Toronto, ON. Jamie is also a former member of CTV's Canadian Idol Orchestra, playing for both music legends Tony Bennett and Paul Anka on the show’s annual big band standards episodes. Jamie has traveled extensively throughout North America, playing bass for a nine-month tour of the hit Broadway musical "Evita".

Jamie has become a first-call bassist for Ontario’s regional musical theatre circuit, playing in the showband for numerous productions. He was on the Executive Board of the former Huntsville Musician's Assoc. AFM Local #682. Jamie is a former member of the Muskoka Jazz Guys, playing standards for corporate events, festivals & weddings. For close to three years, Jamie was an integral member of Huntsville's popular rock band "Laganza". Releasing a CD of original songs called "Both Sides", they went on to open for Blue Rodeo. Jamie has also recorded with "Survivorman" Les Stroud on his newest musical project, The Barn Sessions.
